This photo is called the Pillar of Creation taken by NASA in 1995. It was taken by the hubble space telescope on the ship Discovery after they made repairs to help focus the lens and issue repairs. This is a picture of the Eagle Nebula a star-forming patch 6500 light-years from Earth.

This photo was taken by Andres Serrano and it's called Immersion(Piss Christ). This photo is basically the Crucifix submerged is Urine. When it was first introduced it didn't spark no crontiversy until it hit Virginia and a pastor complained about it. This piece is one of the reasons for decency-standard laws.
The Burning Monk
The Burning Monk was taken by Malcolm Browne in June 1963. He took a picture of a street performance protesting the treatment of monks in Asia.
Mushroom Cloud Over Nagasaki
This Photo was taken in 1945 by Lieutenant Charles Levy. After the atomic bomb obliterated Hiroshima the U.S. sent an even bigger one dubbed Fat Man. The explosion shot up 45,000 feet.
I chose these picture because they stoke curiosity and anxiety for some reason. Milk Drop Coronet stoked anxiety because of the colors and darkness. Pillars of Creation looks like art but it is an actual picture. Immersion look like it was holy until you realize that the crucifix is in someone's urine. The burning monk look enticing and it stoked my curiosity of what was happening. Mushroom cloud over Nagasaki was scary to think about what humans can do. All these picture either stoke curiosity, anxiety, or fear. I chose these photos because they all have a dark theme to them and they were unusual. These photos are so memorable because of the colors and emotions set with them. This is why these are one of the most influential photos in history.
